Ross Abraham work for a large international retailer as a visual merchandiser and graphic designer.
Originally from New York, I moved to Philadelphia in 1992. I studied commercial photography in high school learning how to use large format and medium format cameras.
At the time, that’s as far as it went. I was a musician and my main priority in life was playing and touring in bands.
But my appreciation of photography was always in the background. I rekindled my passion in the digital age.
I am drawn mostly to portrait photography, inspired by such artists as Man Ray, Robert Mapplethorp and Diane Arbus.
I also deeply admire and am inspired by the work of Bob Gruen, how he documented Rock & Roll in the 70’s and 80’s.
I try to bring this mix of inspirations in my own way to street photography.
I like to create environmental portraits of a moment in time.
