Looking back: 28 years in Asia

I find it hard to believe, but I have now spent the majority of the last 28 years living and working in Thailand and SE Asia. All things must pass – and I now find myself preparing to move back to where I grew up, returning the north of England with my wife and children. As the move creeps closer I feel a greater sense of urgency to try and document life here and in doing so, find myself looking at things in a different way.

St Gerassimo’s Day – The real Greece

In Kephalonia once a year the island celebrates the feast day of their patron saint, St Gerassimo. People come from the whole island and the mainland to see the remains of the saint paraded around the monastery he founded. Many smaller towns and villages hold their own feasts and celebrations on the same day. (more…)

[By Josef Buergi] Travelling to Oman was always on my wishlist since a few years, because I read so many good things about the people, the landscape and the way the tourism grows. In late 2014 I decided to go for a three week road trip which started in Muscat and ended in Dubai.
